Eymoutiers – 20km
Eymoutiers is a picturesque medieval town on the banks of the Vienne river. Its half-timbered houses and ancient towers bear witness to a rich historical past. Explore the vestiges of its history through its churches and ramparts, and let yourself be seduced by the tranquil atmosphere of this medieval gem.
Bourganeuf – 35km
Bourganeuf, founded in the 12th century by the Knights Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, is famous for having welcomed the Ottoman sultan Djem, son of Mohammed II, known as Prince Zizim, in 1486. The Zizim Tower, dating from the 15th century, is the main monument of this period. The region also abounds in chapels, bridges, mills and archaeological sites, forming a rich heritage reserve.
Aubusson – 60km
Aubusson, the world capital of tapestry, has been illustrating human history through its works since the 15th century, including creations by Braque, Le Corbusier, Lurçat and Toffoli. After six centuries of work, the town has become the capital of basse-lisse tapestry, a UNESCO world heritage site. Aubusson offers a unique experience with its rich architectural heritage, inherited from Gallic and Roman times.

Limoges – 50km
Renowned as the international capital of porcelain, Limoges boasts an exceptional craft and artistic heritage. For centuries, the town has been the cradle of porcelain production, combining traditional know-how with innovation. Workshops and factories perpetuate this tradition, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the history and manufacturing techniques of this fine ceramic. Its historic streets, particularly in the Old Town, are full of character, with half-timbered facades, picturesque squares and cobbled alleyways.

Less than 10 km from the campsite, discover Lac de Vassivière for water sports and the village of Royère-de-Vassivière for its historic charm. Explore Château de Peyrat, hike in the Forêt de Châteauvert, and relax at Plage de Nergout. A region rich in nature and history.
Canoeing or paddling on Lac de Vassivière. A multi-sports field is at your disposal. You can visit Tourbière des Dauges, a nature reserve offering unique landscapes, or the Monts de Guéret wildlife park. Don’t forget to visit the Tour Zizim in Bourganeuf, a historic tower built for the Ottoman prince in the 15th century.

The Lac de Vassivière festival, the Nuits de Nacre in Tulle – international accordion festival, the Fête de la Transhumance in Peyrat-le-Château in May.
A digestive stroll is in order. Tour du Lac de Vassivière: a loop around the lake offering magnificent views and several access points. Le Sentier de la Cascade des Jarrauds: leads to a beautiful waterfall in an unspoilt natural setting. Le Sentier des Pierres Jaumâtres: strangely shaped granite rocks. The panoramic view from here is impressive and well worth the detour.
